During this half term our English lessons were inspired by our studied text entitled ‘The Dragon Machine ,’ by Helen Ward. The Dragon Machine tells the story of George, a very sad, overlooked and unseen little boy who discovers dragons. He befriends them to discover they are incredibly badly behaved and cause lots of trouble. George makes the difficult decision to take the dragons home and builds a magnificent machine to get them there!

Last half term our English lessons were inspired by our studied text entitled ‘Troll swap,’ by Leigh Hodgkinson. Troll swap tells the tale of Timothy Limpet (a Troll) and Tabitha Lumpit (a girl) who are very different - and find it hard to be accepted in their world just as they are. When they swap places they find a place in the world where they are just the same as everyone else. They soon realise that this isn’t exciting as it may seem and they begin to miss their old lives. They swap back and realise that the grass is not always greener on the other side.
