Welcome to our Year 2 class page. We hope that you will find the information useful.
***Please note our new 'key information' documents for each year group in KS1 and KS2 will soon be uploaded after our 'Meet The Teacher' sessions in September 2024. In the meantime, please take a look at our 'Key Information' document from September 2023 to get a flavour of life in your child's new year group.***

Reading
Each night, Year 2 children are expected to read at home. Please remember to record their daily reading into their reading record, recording the book name/page number and a brief summary of any challenges they may have encountered.
Phonics
We follow the Essential Letters and Sounds programme throughout St. Catherine's to provide high-quality and effective phonics teaching.
Uniform
Please can we make sure that ALL clothing (including PE kits) and water bottles are clearly labelled. On P.E. days, please ensure your child wears their P.E. kit to school. Childrens hair should be tied up and for health and safety reasons children are not permitted to wear earrings to school.
Medical
Please inform us if your child has any medical needs. If your child suffers from asthma please ensure that you have provided the class teacher with an additional inhaler and instructions of how to administer. Please remember we are a nut free school!
